A CLOUD OF SOFTNESS

The Bettie sweater is hand-knitted. Its fine stripes alternate between two rows of medium-pink and white, creating a lovely pattern that’s neither too flashy nor too subdued. It’s just the right amount of color for a vibrant stripe.

The Bettie style is simple, fairly loose-fitting, with wide sleeves that taper at the bottom.

At first Raphaëlle knitted our sweaters by hand, then we called on friends, then we had to find a hand-knitting factory, and fortunately we met Ecaterina. She has a big house in Craiova, Romania, where ladies come to knit your sweaters.

It takes many hours to knit Bettie! Fortunately, this yarn is a joy to work with!

We check every piece, because in hand knitting, every piece is unique!

Yes, I do a lot of pre-ordering, but this sweater is in stock!

Why is that? Simply because hand knitting, which makes for some very, very beautiful and very furry sweaters, is still very much a craft. Each person knits in his or her own way, and I'd even go so far as to say that the same person doesn't knit the same thing twice. So I prefer to order very small series that I can check in detail and offer for sale as soon as I have the pieces in hand.

The mohair yarn we use for this hand-knitted sweater is a thick yarn (as is typical for hand-knitting). It was developed especially for us by our Italian yarn manufacturer and blends very soft, RS-certified superkid mohair with very fine, RWS-certified wool. It is a 100% natural yarn of truly exceptional quality and softness.
