MOHAIR YARN

MOHAIR YARN

This mohair is very very hairy with long fibers for light, fluffy sweaters like clouds.

This yarn comes from one of the last French spinners on the Millevaches plateau. His capacity for hollow-spindle spinning is very limited, as his machine is too old. He therefore buys the raw yarn in Italy and dyes it in France, but within 18 to 24 months, he hopes to be able to spin his mohair yarn into scraped bouclettes again in his workshops, thanks to investment in more modern machinery. The dyeing is carried out in France, and it's a bamboo-filled basin, totally natural and highly efficient, that retreats the dyeing water.
